Island-City 19: Island of Time-trade
The Island of Time-trade was founded by a group of entrepreneurs from the mainland who developed the skill of time-trade. It had begun on mainland, centuries earlier, when small cell-phone traders realized they could sell time to their clients to extend the life of their cellular credit. As it evolved in time, the trade became about buying and selling absolute time in currencies ranging from minutes to months.
The crystalline architectures of the island keep no record of its time of inception; nor can their hard surfaces register the ongoing fluctuations around them. Inside the crystal towers, laser beams keep nails and hair from growing, synthetic injections and micro-surgeries reverse aging processes.
